Up for sale is an EXTREMELY hard to find, original Grateful Dead poster originally in about 8/10 condition. Looking up info on it proved to be difficult but was accomplished. This poster has been recently restored and looks magnificent. In March of 1967, the Grateful Dead took a short break from playing their usual venues, the Fillmore and Avalon Ballroom, to play 7 nights at the short-lived Whiskey-A-Go-Go in San Francisco.
Kantrowitz designed the poster for the shows, depicting Jesus. During this run of shows, Phil Leshs 27th birthday and the release of the bands first album, making it a memorable time for the Dead. However, it's believed that the shows never took place and the the other "band" was actually a front to push drugs. Features a quote from a song by Leonard Cohen entitled "Suzanne". This poster, measuring 14 1/2 x 22 is on uncoated paper stock similar to Fillmore posters.
Like many Grateful Dead posters, this poster was probably on a Deadheads wall and loved over the years. Certainly a rare poster and highly collectible for any Dead fan.
