Masthay Grateful Dead Furthur 2013 Summer Tour Original Artwork, Block & Poster

Offered for sale is a one-of-a-kind grouping - signed original artwork, original carved linoleum block and a signed and numbered Artist's Edition poster for Furthur's 2013 Summer Tour. Obviously, you won't see this anywhere else! The imagery was inspired by the lyrics of the timeless classic "Lady with a Fan" from the Grateful Dead's Terrapin Station Suite. The process (from AJ's website): It all starts with a pastel/charcoal sketch where the composition and color placement is all planned out.

Once the sketch is complete it is transferred onto a blank linoleum plate, literally running the pastel drawing through the press onto the plate, creating the reversed image. Whatever is whittled away at this point will either remain the color of the paper or is left clean to get a true color from another plate.

Paper is cut to size and ready to start mixing the ink for printing. The poster is an Artist's Edition (#3/50), in mint condition and measuring 12" x 23". The original artwork is complete with pencil lines, smudges, etc. And is a great representation of the amount of work and talent! That goes into creating a poster.

It measures about 13.5" x 23.5". The lino block big and heavy! Has been cleaned in a way that renders the face of the woman in an eerie fashion - very Grateful Dead-ish!
