This poster is from a show in Tulsa, Oklahoma, February 6, 1979. The date of the show saw a very bad blizzard that resulted in several of these posters not being hung because there was some doubt the show would even take place.
This is one of those posters that didn't get hung up. I guess they didn't know the Dead and the Deadheads. Granted only about 1/3 of the place was full, but the show must go on. Aside from the obvious draw of the iconic Steal Your Face image, this poster is a must for collectors. There are only a handful of these posters in existence (less than 10 known copies)- they exist because they were not hung up for a show they didn't expect people to attend. The poster has a high gloss coating to protect it as it was meant to be hung outdoors. This poster is in remarkable condition. This poster is from one of the few shows where there is no known tape...
Very rare for post 1976 shows. From the Dead's website: A rare show for sure! Myself and six friends drove in a blizzard of a snow storm...
