In 1967, the Grateful Dead released their debut self-titled album, Grateful Dead. Although Stanley Mouse created the album cover, Rick Griffin created promotional flyers for the band. Fresno promoter Rockys Mag, used Griffins handbill as a show flyer by adding the date and venue for the Deads show on May 12th at the Marigold. The original handbill, measuring 8 1/2 x 11, is on rough cream paper stock. It is in mint condition with no flaws whatsoever.
Its not only an early Dead piece, but an early Rick Griffin design created shortly after his arrival to San Francisco. Llectors seeking truly vintage posters there is no other source that can match the breadth and authenticity of the collection at Wolfgang's Vault. To see our other auctions!
