Offered for sale is the original set of production cels for the Grateful Dead's famous 1981 European tour poster by master artist Stanley Mouse. Images have been produced on individual cels (cellulose acetate sheets) which are then layered atop each other to render the overall image that is then used to make the poster. This is likely a one-of-a-kind set, although I couldn't swear to it. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure you haven't seen this anywhere else - and I guarantee your buddy doesn't own anything like it! It is professionally framed: single -matted (acid-free of course) and protected by UV-resistant museum glass. Only top-of-the-line, expensive materials were used in the framing of this classic unique piece. T he image area measures approximately 17" x 21" and the framed size of the piece is around 24.5" x 29.5".

This artwork is composed of a few separate layers. They are attached to each other at the top, but hang loose within the frame, so there is some slight "waviness" and minor creasing in some of the individual cellulose acetate sheets, mostly above and left of the red rose. I tried to capture these in photos, but it didn't come out at all - way too much glare because of the sheets.

It's pretty hard to see any of these minor issues from normal viewing distance a couple feet away. It presents as a really attractive work of art and looks very cool in person.
