He attended all of these concerts and so many more. The Carousel posters are his favorite and this represents the last of what was a large collection. I do not collect Carousel items and know nothing about them. I try to make the prices competitive while still trying to get fair value for my friend. The pictures will represent condition.
Grateful Dead 1968 AOR 2.160 Carousel Ballroom MEMORIAL Poster. This is a first printing (second state) poster. Featured in the Art of Rock book on page 179 (plate 2.160).
For May 30-June 1, 1968 concerts at the Carousel Ballroom, San Francisco featuring Grateful Dead, Charlie Musselwhite and Petris. Art by Alton Kelley uses photographic image of skulls stacked on primitive racks and is one of the classic Grateful Dead images of the psychedelic era. Some examples of this poster have had the days of the concert blacked out as they were incorrectly listed (they line-up with 1969 not 1968, which is the year the concert actually took place).
