Frankenstein Greatful Dead Poster 2008 Avalon Ballroom with COA

Ready for a monster mash-up? On August 19th of 1966 the Grateful Dead with Sopwith Camel played the first of two weekend shows at the Avalon Ballroom, in San Francisco. Bill Ham projected his groovy liquid light show on the wall behind the bands to the thrill of the crowd. This is the 22nd image in the Family Dog series, the classic "Frankenstein" poster for the "Greatful" Dead. You misread that right - artists Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse were creating their first poster for the Grateful Dead. Apparently, they were uncertain as to how the band's name was spelled. They would more than make up for it the following month, with FD-26 the iconic "Skeleton and Roses" poster. This is the officially licensed 2008 printing (Rhino Entertainment stamp on the reverse) 27&1/8 x 37&1/2" oversized lithograph print of a concert poster for the Grateful ("Greatful) Dead appearing with Sopwith Camel at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 8/19-20/1966.
