BGP FILLMORE WEST CLOSING WEEK Poster (June 30th 1971) BG-287 Grateful Dead

This is an original 2nd printing BILL GRAHAM PRESENTS poster featuring 17 bands including THE GRATEFUL DEAD. (#BG287) DAVID SINGER'S FINAL FILLMORE DESIGN was striking and this remains one of the most popular prints in circulation today. The 2nd printing is on thin uncoated index that was folded to fit inside the'Closing of the Fillmore' record album. It measures 21 7/8" x 27 13/16", and was printed after the concert. This print is in fair shape with quite a bit of general wear, including lots of tape (mostly on back), very small tears, folds, creases, pinholes, minimal staining and one seam that is mostly held together by the tape on back. That said, this poster looks remarkably good for all its issues and will look awesome in a frame! Check out the photos below to see what I mean. This design was both a final and a first. It was the final poster in the original numbered series, the final David Singer-designed Fillmore poster and the final concert at the Fillmore West. It was also the first time 17 bands had been listed on a poster and the first time a poster was commissioned by someone other than Bill Graham himself. BG287 was commissioned as a gift to Graham and was to be presented to him after the event. A TRULY HISTORICAL piece of rock history!
