ITEM: This is a vintage and original lithograph poster used in promotion of the music documentary "The Grateful Dead" (1977) that featured the legendary rock & roll band's live performance at the Winterland in San Francisco in 1974. The Uncle Sam skeleton was devised by Gary Gutierrez as part of the animation for The Grateful Dead Movie (1977) playing off the American obsession with all things bicentenial. This comes from the collection of the former owner of a Minnesota head shop, and features a trippy hippie drug culture vibe and aesthetic. Published by the Tea Lautrec company, San Francisco, perhaps the most pre-eminent print shop to help turn rock posters into their own art form. Measures 21 3/4" x 28" CONDITION: Fine condition with some light creasing around the margins and general storage wear. This will frame and display very well. Please use the included images as a conditional guide. Guaranteed to be 100% vintage and original from Grapefruit Moon Gallery.
