MINT Grateful Dead Janis Joplin 1967 TRIP OR FREAK AOR 2.183 Poster
The "Trip Or Freak" poster image was a collaboration between Stanley Mouse, Alton Kelley & Rick Griffin. It was used as art for the posters and handbills for the 1967 Halloween show at Winterland Arena that featured the Grateful Dead, Big Brother & The Holding Co. Appropriately, it is featured in "The Art Of Rock", plate 2.183. And, in 1991, the three artists silkscreened the poster on a much larger scale than the original (almost twice the size), and put a high quality black matte around the outside of the poster. It measures approximately 23 1/4" x 39 1/2" (including the black matte), and remains in stunning, beautiful near mint condition there are some very thin veritcal lines in the matting along the right side. These are scanner anomalies, as this piece has no flaws. All that is left to do is put a black frame around the outer edge, and this will make any room in which it hangs.
