Some of which you can see in the background of the photos. This is the second printing of the famous FD-26... (FD is Family Dog) see the marking 26(2) in the lower left corner. The poster was designed by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley. It's beautifully printed, on thick vellum paper.
The good paper stiffness is one of the reasons the poster is so well-preserved, without any kind of problems with the image itself. Of course, the paper is old. Vellum is an uncoated paper stock... In one of the photos, I left it against a gleaming white glossy poster, to highlight the natural coloring of uncoated stock after fifty-three years. Honestly, this'aged' look, and the mildly scattered foxing, are not the first things you'd notice, when looking at it.This is good paper, but it's probably not acid-free nor archival, and it certainly wasn't dust-proof. No pinholes, and 2 very mild tape marks on the back. Note: I replaced the images, since someone pointed out that the tungsten light cast yellow over everything, making the color quite inaccurate. I used two fluorescent light-boxes instead for these photos. I'm taking no chances with damage.
Please write with questions, or requests for photographs. I'm NOT a rock-n-roll poster expert, nor a professional appraiser -- although I've been around the printing business for decades, and this is clearly very good work from the mid-60's. They're quite rare, so it's a bit hard to price.
